  • Or have I just had worse than typical adventures as a RS3 player? I have even been invited by friends to stop playing RS3 and instead play OSRS. They almost look offended when I tell them that I wish to stick with RS3. Literally been that way since the launching of OSRS. Just since most OS players that played Pre-EOC totally hated said battle implementation. Resentment in the driven change. That is understandable, however. It has been a long time, but many people dropped several hundreds or even thousands of hours of play time in addition to Runescape we grew upon. So for a few, the bitterness runs deep.

I think that it stems from RuneScape being one of the most prosperous games in the world pre EOC / wilderness removal etc.. There's a LOT of people who had a great deal of hatred towards Jagex for ruining Runescape they adored, and almost everyone quit. When OSRS came around it was essentially an entry that Jagex was wrong, and the fact that oldschool has come to be so much bigger than the main Runescape match proves that concept to a lot of people. People today hate what Jagex didn't RS3 and oldschool fuels that anger.

I see. Thank you for that summary. Jagex must have done things differently. Introduced EOC as an improvement or something rather. Yeah I mean I guess at the end of the day people get both today so there is no need to wonder. It will make me wonder exactly how incredible Runescape would be if they never moved the RS3 route and spent the last 10+ years adding more content rather, but the staff / updates we get due to the manner OSRS is constructed makes me very thankful it went this way.

The two matches are worlds apart today. Both are great though! MTX is in full swing (mostly cosmetics, however, so not too bad). I really don't like the idea of pay to triumph, but at the same time I realize that it has its advantages too. It retains membership cost low and supplies more income for their small business. I've also never needed to cover membership for many years, due to purchasing bonds with my own in-game wealth! EOC has its flaws, but I think it's pretty awesome overall. There are a whole lot of strategies which you can utilize. It's very interactive and that's exactly what I like. It seems like RNG isn't a huge factor in order to do well.

Among the worst facets, unfortunately, is the condition of PVP. It has had 1 foot in the grave for many years now. Bossing is awesome. If you would like to try out EOC, there are a lot of youtube videos that show what has changed, and also very comprehensive guides too. Personally, I've been creating low level account assembles and bossing/dueling players. It is controversial however. I have been told several times I'm the"Rendi of RS3" lol. I'm not that great though. I believe it was for humor at the moment. Good luck! I hope you've got fun in both games!
