Human Oversight: Our dedicated "Safety Ambassadors" (human moderators) review flagged content 24/7 to ensure nuances are understood and rules are enforced fairly.
Age-Appropriate Architecture: We implement strict age-gating during the "Yowland" registration process to ensure users are placed in peer-appropriate communities.
For users under the age of 16, Yowland automatically enables the highest privacy settings:
Private Profiles: Accounts are set to private by default; only approved "Travel Buddies" can view content.
Restricted Direct Messaging: DMs are limited to mutual followers to prevent unsolicited contact from strangers.
Location Privacy: Precise geolocation sharing is disabled for all minor accounts to ensure physical safety.
Yowland has a Zero-Tolerance Policy for harassment.
Invisible Reporting: If a user reports a peer, the action is completely anonymous to prevent retaliation.
Community Warning System: We focus on education; minor infractions receive a "Safety Lesson" popup, while severe violations result in immediate account termination.

Yowland is a platform designed exclusively for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13.
In accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Yowland maintains a strict age-gate at registration:
No Under-13 Accounts: If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible and terminate the account.
Proactive Identification: Our systems are designed to identify and flag accounts that may belong to users under the minimum age requirement based on usage patterns and self-reported data.
For our citizens in the United Kingdom, Yowland adheres to the "Best Interests of the Child" standards for teenagers (ages 13–17):
Age Assurance: We utilize age-verification prompts during the "Passport" creation process to ensure users meet the minimum age requirement.
Privacy by Default: For users identified as being between the ages of 13 and 17, high-privacy settings are enabled by default, including restricted data sharing and limited geographical tracking.
Data Minimization: We only collect data necessary to provide the Yowland experience and do not use "nudge techniques" to encourage younger users to lower their privacy barriers.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under the age of 13 has created a Yowland Passport, please contact our Safety Team immediately at safety@yowland.com. We will take immediate action to verify and remove the account and all associated data.
Welcome to Yowland! By carrying your Yowland Passport, you are joining a global community built on creativity and respect. To keep our borders open and safe for everyone, all citizens must follow these rules:
Kindness First: Treat others as you’d like to be treated. Bullying, name-calling, or making fun of others isn't allowed here.
Respect Differences: Yowland is a diverse place. We celebrate different cultures, backgrounds, and ideas. Hate speech or discrimination has no place in our world.
Keep it Private: Never share your real name, home address, phone number, school, or passwords. Your "Yowland Identity" is all you need!
Stranger Danger: Only accept "Travel Buddy" requests from people you actually know in real life.
Report, Don't Retaliate: If someone makes you feel uncomfortable or breaks the rules, use the Report button. Our Safety Ambassadors will handle it—don't try to fight back.
Keep it Clean: Only share photos, videos, and comments that are appropriate for everyone. No "Not Safe for Work" (NSFW) content, violence, or illegal activities.
No Spamming: Don't clog up the feed with the same message over and over or fake "giveaways."
Be Original: Share your own creations! Don't pretend to be someone else or steal other people’s work.
Certain actions will get your Yowland Citizenship permanently revoked:
Predatory Behavior: Any attempt to solicit personal info or meet minors offline.
Self-Harm: We care about you. We do not allow content that encourages hurting yourself; instead, we will provide resources to help you.
Doxxing: Sharing someone else’s private information is a serious violation.
Encourage your child to show you their "Travel Log" (their feed) once a week. Remind them that anything they post on Yowland is part of their digital footprint. If they wouldn't say it to someone's face in the real world, they shouldn't post it on Yowland.
