You Aren't Close Enough: The Solar System exclusively applies to a user's Top 8 Best Friends. If you are the 9th most snapped person on their list, you will not be assigned a planet, even if you have Snapchat Plus. You simply have to send more mutual snaps to break into their orbit.
The Feature is Toggled Off: Snapchat recently added the ability to completely disable this feature to reduce social anxiety. If your friend has turned off the Solar System feature in their Snapchat Plus settings, you will not be able to see your planetary rank on their profile.
