Before submitting your research, verify the journal appears on Scopus's official source title list, searched by exact title. Check its CiteScore and SJR metrics on SCImago's database to confirm active, current indexing and quartile ranking. Watch for red flags like promised 48-hour acceptance, editorial boards, or unusually low fees on a "high-impact" claim. Cross-check with your university's approved journal list, since requirements can vary even among Scopus-indexed journals. If you're unsure, a trusted Scopus publication service online can match your manuscript to a genuinely suitable, verified journal. This small step protects months of research from ending up in a journal with no real academic value.
